Portfolio

My design work is inspired by traditional print design as well as the most contemporary approaches. Of course, I always attempt to design in such a way that supports what is being presented rather than let style trump substance. Stylistically speaking, I am strongly influenced by mid-20th-century typography as well as the fine typography seen 200 years ago.

Colon Cancer Awareness Campaign

Colon Cancer Awareness Campaign

Client: NotifyMD

Role: Designer (Creative Director: DJ Smith, Talstone Group)

NotifyMD is one of the few leading call management firms that is specific to healthcare. They wanted to branch out and create community-based campaigns to develop awareness for certain issues, thus driving patients to hospitals.

The firm I was working with developed this campaign to have two components: The first component is to educate C-level hospital executives about their new Enterprise offerings. The second is to reach the community and create health awareness.

This particular campaign creates colon cancer awareness, informing and educating the public about the need for screenings and debunking common myths about the disease. My assignment was to create an oversize postcard that shows the type of people that the myths say don't need colon cancer screening, set under an ominous sky, taking something of a scar-tactic approach. The other component, a bifold brochure aimed squarely at C-suite hospital executives, takes a clean, corporate, yet in-your-face approach with bold type and a metallic finish.

Both pieces were mailed together, with the message for the executives and the demonstration of just how NotifyMD can reach the community.
